Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Education:

2019 - PhD in Mathematics, University of North Texas, Denton, TX
2012 - BSE in Mathematics, East Texas Baptist University, Marshall, TX

Biography:

Tyler teaches all levels of mathematics, including online graduate courses in the Master of Science in Mathematics program. He also advises pre-engineering majors and is a faculty liaison to dual credit teachers across Missouri.

Research Interests:

Tyler has advised student projects in the following areas: satellite motion, Colley’s bias free matrix rankings, Reed-Solomon error correction for QR codes, cryptography, probability of employee turnover including Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, math and statistics of voting power, statistical analysis of CMU COVID-19 data, Raman spectroscopy, and the singular value decomposition.

Biography:

Grant Swicegood teaches undergraduate mathematics at all levels, as well as graduate mathematics courses in the Master's of Science in Mathematics online program. He is also a faculty sponsor of the Kappa Mu Epsilon mathematics honors society and of the student gaming group, Game Geeks. In addition, he advises Pre-Engineering students and serves as a Faculty Liaison to mathematics dual-credit teachers across Missouri.
