Color Run
CMU's annual Color Run will be on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The start time for both races is 3:00 p.m. We recommend arriving 15-30 minutes prior to the race.
The pre-registration window will close Wednesday, April 22 at 12 p.m. Participants have the option to join the 5k run or 1 mile walk. Packet pickup will be in the Inman Plaza on April 23 and April 24 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Packet pickup will also be available starting one hour before the race on race day and closing 15 minutes before the race. Runners may still register at packet pickup or on race day, but might not receive a packet or T-shirt if supplies are out.
The starting line will be located at Davis Field. Parking will be available in that lot.

CMU faculty and staff pay their charity fee of $5
Howard County residents: $10
Everyone else: $15
Kids (12 & under): $5

FAQs
What comes with each race packet?- Each packet comes with a t-shirt, sunglasses, a color powder packet, and your racing bib!
Where can I view pictures of the race?
- We will post the photos on Flickr and Facebook after the event. Follow us on Facebook for more updates!
Will this race be timed?
- Yes! This is an officially timed race, timing and results will managed by Heartland Racing Co.
Is the color powder safe for ingestion?
- Yes! Here is a quote from our color powder provider "The color powder we use is made from high quality, gluten-free cornstarch, food coloring (dyes) and baking soda. The color powder is gluten free and does not contain dairy, nuts, wheat, soy or other common allergens. Although it is made from all food safe ingredients, it is not created in a food safe facility and is not intended for human consumption."
- While the ingredients are safe in small amounts, it is not recommended to inhale or ingest large quantities of color powder.

Is the color powder safe for the environment?
- The color powder we use is made of 100% biodegradable ingredients
Does the color powder stain clothing?
- The color powder washes out of most clothing, but may stain some fabrics. We recommend wearing the t-shirt that comes with your registration!
Parking & Route
The starting line will be located at Davis Field. Parking will be available in that lot.
Roads are not closed, so runners need to be alert for cars and should run on the sidewalk alongside Church Street.
We may cancel the race for safety reasons, including inclement weather.
Refunds are not available for any reason.
