Education:

B.S in Interdisciplinary Studies, Governors State University
DPT in Physical Therapy, Governors State University
Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist

 

Biography:

Megan Roemer serves as Program Director for Central Methodist University’s Physical Therapist Assistant program. Her teaching responsibilities include Introduction to Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, Orthopedics, and PTA Seminar. In addition to teaching, she performs administrative duties required for program accreditation and compliance, advises students in the program, and assesses curriculum effectiveness.

Prior to entering physical therapy education, Megan practiced as a physical therapist for 8 years in a variety of settings including: outpatient orthopedics, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and pediatric school setting. She has experience with orthopedic rehabilitation and became a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist in July 2019. She remains an active clinician working in both skilled nursing and home health settings.

Josh Nickell, PTA

Director of Clinical Education for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program, Employee since 2020

Education:

B.A. in Psychology, University of Nebraska-Lincoln
AAS in PTA, State Tech (formerly Linn State Technical College)

 

Biography:

Josh Nickell serves as the Director of Clinical Education for Central Methodist University’s Physical Therapist Assistant program. His teaching responsibilities include Essential Skills for the PTA, Modalities for the PTA, Clinical Preparation for the PTA, Pathophysiology for the PTA, and Neurologic Rehabilitation for the PTA. In addition to teaching, he performs the organization and administrative duties required for all program clinical rotation activities with community businesses, therapists, and employers.

Prior to entering physical therapist assistant education realm, Josh practiced as a physical therapist assistant for 9 years primarily in a skilled nursing setting with some out-patient experiences added in. He remains an semi-active clinician working in the skilled nursing setting on an as needed basis.
