Wade Welton

Wade Welton

Dr. Wade Welton, LAT, ATC, is an associate professor in Central Methodist University's (CMU) Master of Science in Athletic Training (AT) program, serving as the program director. Professor Welton has held positions of head athletic trainer and program director at CMU for 27 years as well as a part owner in a local rehabilitation and sports medicine clinic. He has extensive experience and research interests in orthopedic assessment, rehabilitation, classroom pedagogy, and holds a certificate in dry needling for orthopedic rehabilitation and sport performance.

Professor Welton was awarded the NAIA Head Athletic Trainer of the Year award in 2013, inducted into the Missouri Sports Medicine Hall of Fame in 2014, and the Central Methodist University Hairston Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Simpson College in 1987, his Master of Science in Physical Education, Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Central Missouri in 1996, and his Doctor of Health Science degree at the University of Indianapolis in 2019.

Wade and his wife Sonya have two sons, Mackenzie and Tanner. Hobbies include cycling, hunting and fishing.

 

Jim Moore

Jim MooreDr. Jim Moore ATC serves as an Assistant Professor in Central Methodist's University, Athletic Training Education Program. Dr. Moore teaches in the areas of Anatomy, Rehabilitation, Administration, and entry level Athletic Training courses.

Prior to being at Central Methodist Dr. Moore was in Higher Education Administration, as well as teaching in two other Accredited Athletic Training Education Programs. Dr. Moore also has experience in High School Athletic Training setting, Clinical Athletic Training setting, and has professional level Athletic Training experience in football, and rodeo.

Dr. Moore received his Bachelors' and Masters' degrees in Exercise and Sports Science-Athletic Training from the University of Central Missouri. Dr. Moore Continued his education, earning his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis for the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Dr. Moore currently serves on the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education Review Team, as well as a Site Visitor for the Commission. Dr. Moore is also a long serving member of the Justin Boots Sports Medicine Team covering Professional Rodeo.

 

Kristan Erdmann

Kristan ErdmannKristan Erdmann, EdD, LAT, ATC serves as an Associate Professor in the Athletic Training Program. Prior to arriving at Central, Dr. Erdmann was the Athletic Training Program Director Murray State University and the Clinical Education Coordinator at Union College. Dr. Erdmann has previous clinical experience in high school, clinic, and performing arts settings.

Dr. Erdmann earned her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and Master’s degree in Physical Education (Sports Administration emphasis) from Eastern Kentucky University in 2006. She earned her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Kentucky in 2013.

Dr. Erdmann’s research and teaching interests include behavioral health and psychosocial intervention, acute and emergency care, and wrist/hand rehabilitation. She currently serves as a Site Visitor for the CAATE and has been involved in leadership and service at the state, district, and national levels throughout her professional career.
