Beneke Psychology Research Award
In 2023 Dr. William Beneke, a former psychology faculty member at CMU from 2000 to 2008, established an endowment to annually recognize a senior psychology major who is conducting research as a part of their degree completion.
The first award was given in 2025 to CMU senior Saige Niemeier and was featured on page 4 of the spring issue of the alumni magazine The Talon.
The Jacqueline M. Anson Research Lab
Located on the fourth floor of T. Berry Smith Hall is the social sciences research lab where students can and are encouraged to conduct research. The research lab was proposed by former faculty members Dr. Elizabeth Gold and Dr. Jacqueline Anson, both of whom were passionate about creating a space to give students the opportunity to explore their capabilities. The research lab was established in Dr. Anson's name in fall 2022, following her death in November of 2020.
